GraduateCenter Speed Slam call

GC Speed Slam on June 5, 2024

When: 05.06.2024

What is it YOU can tell about your doctoral research in just 180 seconds? Let us know and participate in the GC Speed Slam on June 5, 2024. The GraduateCenterLMU invites doctoral researchers from all LMU departments to sum up their research in an extra fast science slam. And if you are going to be one of two winners of our competition, you will be sent to participate in an international competition at the University of Porto.

Responsible Research 2024


A campus-wide event for next-generation researchers on July 25th !

The graduate programs of the Life Science Campus Großhadern/Martinsried and greater Munich community together with the GraduateCenterLMU will jointly host an event on responsible conduct in research. Master students, doctoral candidates, postdocs, senior scientists – all are welcome!

Additionally, the DAAD and LSM jointly award 2 full scholarships for doctoral study financed by the DAAD Graduate School Scholarship Programme (GSSP).
In cooperation with the LMU CSC programme the LSM awards two 2 full scholarships for doctoral study financed by the China Scholarship Council programme. Further information and details about the online application process can be found here.

 

 

 

 

 

Sustainable World: Global Challenges for Life Scientists

Our goal is to give students and scientists the opportunity to hear about transformation experiences and solutions for our sustainability crisis from different experts, but also to provide a platform for discussion and exchange on the topic of transformation. We look forward to a day of opinions and ideas, fed on enthusiasm, curiosity, open-mindedness and conviction. Join us!

Target Group: Students, doctoral and post-doctoral researchers, junior and senior scientists in the natural and physical sciences of the LMU, TUM and Munich institutions. All interested are welcome!

Return to a human scale: an industrial regime change – Dr. Bruno Kern, Initiative Ökosozialismus
Sustainable development as an educational mission – Dr. Isolde von Bülow, GraduateCenterLMU Munich
Delivering sustainability in scientific organisations – Lessons from EMBL – Brendan Antony Rouse, EMBL Heidelberg

After a break, the program continues with an interactive and participatory World Café (moderated by Hanno Langfelder from Green City e.V.) followed by a poster session and networking opportunity with Munich initiatives.

We encourage you to take this opportunity to learn, but also be a voice and agent of change in this open event. Refreshments will be offered in the morning and afternoon. In this spirit of participation (and to avoid waste), please register with intention of attending the entire program.

Organized by the Life Science Network Munich, a group of graduate schools and graduate programs affiliated with the LMU, TUM, Helmholtz Zentrum München and Max Planck Institutes in the greater Munich area. The network is committed to creating synergies, strengthening the scientific community by promoting interdisciplinary communication and cooperation as well as organizing events on topics of overall interest and benefit.
